So, this was an unexpected voicemail to receive. It was apparently an email(?) read aloud to my voicemail by a T-Mobile operator, asking me about a random blog post about the only way way to drive directly from Missouri to Kentucky, an artifact of one of my (weird) “state border crossings” quest.

A voicemail transcription details a message from a person seeking directions to Kentucky, mentioning their interest in a road trip through Illinois or Tennessee and offering an email address for further contact.

That is weird. I can only make wild guesses about what that person is trying to do? Smuggle moonshine? Smuggle something else? What other possible reason to avoid main roads?

@rscottjones … well, at least they didn’t ask for you to send them iTunes gift cards right away.

@mountainscalling.me on top of that, the blog post in question is pretty specific about how this is a weird way to cross a state border onto a small island in the middle of a river without any other outlet and dead-ending at a private farm…so, uh, hmmm.
